Unique & Vintage Inspired 4th Of July Wood Blocks How To

Hello everyone, Michelle here today to share with you my vintage inspired, and unique Fourth of July wood block art, created with cardstock & embellishments from The Robin's Nest.

I happen to have a plethora of wood scraps (or my hubby does) laying around in our garage. Well we creative minds know what that means, FUN to create with for us.

I made my selections of products, and from the Robin's Nest I chose the following:

Blue Fleur Cardstock

Fireworks Die-Cuts

Additional supplies used:
Gesso
Gouache Paint
Stamps
Ink
Glue
Vintage Images
Glimmer Spray
Memo Pic's

Once making my selections, I prepped the blocks with gesso. While drying, I cut my RN paper & cardstock, using the flag paper as my base for each, into flower shapes, buttons, and strips to make "fan rosettes", and began assembling them together.
I also used a distress tool  and ink, on the edge of each piece of flag paper.

Once the gesso dried, I randomly stamped music notes & script, over the blocks, and glued the flag paper to each block. After attaching the finished "rosettes" to memo pic's, I glued to each of the blocks. I also used glimmer spray in an antique shade over the block surface not covered by paper, and clear glimmer over the rosettes.

I used gouache, to paint "red stripes" around the remaining of the blocks, and also used to add a hint of random color to my vintage images.

Using "4th of July" glitter title words, I glued to each of the blocks, and glued the images as well. I added a variety of Dew Drops in shapes, color & sizes to all blocks, as well as the rosettes. Each block, features glittered RN glitter die cut stars or fireworks.

To finish the project, I added wooden "legs" to each block.

And there you have it. A unique way to display some 4th of July art,
perfect for the fun summer holiday.
