Angels on High

Hello and happy December! This is Clickersister and today I'm bringing you a Z-Fold Christmas card! I've wanted to do a folded card for a while now, and this was the perfect time!

Robin's Nest supplies used:

Winter Snowflakes Glitter Chipboard

Hunter Green Glitter Cardstock

Winter Retreat Glitter Swirl Cardstock

Other supplies used:

8 1/2 x 11 Ivory Cardstock

Acrylic stamps, inks, and embossing powder

Your choice of cutting dies for shape and shadow background (I used Spellbinders)

Now for the instructions on how to make your own:

Cut the piece of cardstock in half lengthwise, so that your card base is 4 1/4 x 11.

Next, score it at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2. Fold as follows.

Cut your Winter Retreat paper to just fit the left and right side panels as shown.

This is what your Z-Fold card should look like now.

Stamp and die cut your desired images for the front and inside of the card. I used the Hunter Green Glitter cardstock as the shadow base for my focal piece. I centered the front piece on, then held the bottom piece directly under it so that it lined up perfectly when the card was closed, then 

adhered in place.

I added a Winter Snowflakes Chipboard to the front and back panel to add some dimension (and you can't go wrong with more glitter!)

Just simple but beautiful!

Christmas Layout

Tracy here today with a Christmas layout of my beautiful granddaughters. The photo is a few years old but I guess it's better scrapped late than never.

To start I matted the photo on some of the Red Rope Glitter Cardstock and the Hunter Green with Gold Glitter Cardstock and layered it all on top of some of the Gold Classic Swirl Glitter Cardstock.

With my Cricut I cut out the poinsettia flowers and the holly leaves. I added some detail to the flowers with a white pen and then sprayed them with some pearl mist to give them a little sparkle. And of course I had to add some Metallic Gold Dew Drops to the flowers and some Christmas Dew Drops to the holly leaves. I also popped up the top layer of the flower and just the leafy part of the holly to give the page some dimension.

I added some Christmas burlap ribbon to the top and bottom of the layout and some gold stickers that I've had in my stash for many years. I never realized how pretty they were til I placed them on this layout.

I decided to go with a simple title and used the word Christmas from the Glitter Word Titles.

So does this layout get you in the mood for Christmas? It sure does for me!

How to do

Prepare your material !

Cut your papers.

2 squares .

14*14cm

12*12cm

2 rectangles

7,5*12cm

30*15cm

Put some Distress Ink around the papers and stick them like above. Then stick a piece of lace.

Stick the image on the small rectangle before to stick it like this.

Now, put the snowflakes chipboards and some Dew drops.

Choose a stamp for the title!

Stick your card on the big rectangle, it is finish!!!

Christmas Planner

I am sharing a simple project with you this week, but one that will help you during the busy holiday season to keep track of your holiday life...

I am a LIST MAKER - - I have lists and notes everywhere... and store bought planners for Christmas just don't meet my needs - they are just too fancy - - and I just need a place to make lists and record addresses or other vital info for the holidays!

Here is my Christmas Planner solution:

Compostion Book - Dollar Store
Chipboard Scraps (think backs of notepads, etc)
Christmas Tree Glitter Cardstock
Snow Covered Trees Cardstock
Snowflake Glitter Cardstock (white & blue)


Gather up your supplies:

Cut your Snow Covered Trees Cardstock to fit your composition book and glue it down.

Fussy cut the trees on the outside edges of Christmas Tree Glitter Cardstock and adhere to outside edges of composition book.

Cut (2) pieces of chipboard just slightly larger than compostion book and slightly larger than each other - cover both in glittered snowflake cardstock - these will serve as your planner "separators"

While I could have covered this project in Dew Drops and other embellishments, I wanted to keep it real - - this notebook will be shoved in my purse multiple times a day - - I will be keeping notes of gifts, christmas cards and coupons. 

Robin's Nest made my usual holiday checklists BEAUTIFUL!!

It's all about the decorations

Colleen here with a fun and easy decoration to make.  It could be to hang on your tree, a present or make several and hang as an door wreath.

Top view:

Supplies used:

Wedding cut out cardstock, back side

Red Lion cardstock, back side

Silver Bells Dew Drops, just used the pearl dew drops

Scrap piece of green cardstock

Ribbon

Egg shaped styrofoam

Straight pins

Start with a 12x12 sheet of cardstock and cut them into 1" strips.  After you have cut the entire sheet take your 1" strips and cut 1" off each strip.

After you have them all cut up you will take your 1" square and start folding them.  Fold both sides toward the middle.  I gently folded mine in half so I knew where the middle was.

Now you are going to start pinning the folded pieces onto your egg.  You will be starting at the smallest part of the egg first and your first 2 pieces will be pinned at the North and South of the egg.  I used 2 pins for each piece of paper.  The tips of the folds should touch each other.  Next you pin the next two East and West on the egg.  Now you are going going to keep overlaying the pieces. Make sure you cover the pins on the previous row.

I cut my flower using my Silhouette Cameo but you could just as easy use a die cut for your flowers.  I inked the edges on the flower and then glued them all together.  Since I wanted the pinecone to hang straight I punched a hole in the center of the flower so I could run the ribbon up through the flower.  Once that was done I used a big white dew drop for the center.

I wanted to add a little bling so I made my own pearl accent using the Silver Bells Dew Drops, using the pearl dew drops and a thin piece of wire.  I hot glue the dew drops onto the wire and when ready to use I cut them into the sizes I wanted. I found using Embellie Gellie the greatest tool to add the dew drops to the wire without getting burned.

The final step for me was to add watered down glue to the flower and pinecone and sprinkle with glitter.

I hope you give this a try, it was so much fun to make and just think of all the different sizes you could make.

Masculine papers for all those Fishing pages

Hi everyone. It's Bev back again with another masculine page. So how many of you have a fisherman in your family. Well these 2 best of friends love fishing. They even take a weeks vacation to so far North to fish the services are lacking!!!! OMG It is a guy thing for them because us girls don't go with them... that's for sure? LOL

So on these masculine pages I always grab for these papers to create with ... they are perfect for fishing photos.

Supply List:

I always grab papers... cut some... and place some things into proposed positions and move them around until I get what I am looking for. For this one I didn't even have the photo pulled yet ... so that was the next step.... and I had to make adjustments as the photo was horizontal.instead of vertical. LOL

So with that changed I now have this proposed layout and pulled some cork and burlap for possible accents.

Behind the title you see a great net looking chipboard.

I worked on the above 2 sections next. I matted things to make them pop and the cork and burlap added depth and texture to my page.

I don't often play with loose twine .. but thought it was perfect for this page. The twine is like the fishing pole line scrawled across the page.

I using fine line glue to make the twine stick and then added the photo over top of it and the burlap strip. The diagonal strips that I moved off when I turned everything where now brought back into the layout on the outer edges. 

I had a great cork tag and experimented by using a rubon accent. It worked perfectly.... just had to work slightly slower and more delicately when doing this.

With these amazing products the page came together perfectly. Cool and masculine and a great sport fishing layout. 

Now in these photos you can see some of the details up close. I add another fishing rubon. .. and you can see the addition of larger dew drops.
